Philip A. Henry
Hello there! My name is Philip, and I’ve been working in film and video since 2010. In that time, I’ve directed, produced, written scripts, operated camera and sound, but what lights me up most is post-production. Editing, color, sound design, music, even motion graphics. I love all of it. Whether your project has a solid road map or just loose directions written on a napkin (no more extended metaphors…), I can take the pieces and build something stirring, something energetic, something powerful, something lasting. A finished piece that manages to balance messaging with emotion.
I grew up in Nashville, where I wrote scripts, made movies, built flight simulators, and composed music from a wee age. Years later, I formally studied film in LA and editing in Brooklyn at The Edit Center. In 2016, I won an Emmy award for my work editing a short doc for a friend: "Roy Williams' Game Day Security Blanket." Before moving back to the Triangle in 2021, I lived with my family in western NC, where I opened and operated a nonprofit arthouse cinema.
I’d love to hear about your project and see how I could help. Let’s talk!
